The following privacy policy applies only to users of the AICPA Insurance Program's websites, cpai.com and www.trustmyaccount.cpai.com. Our website contains links to other websites. When you click on one of these links you will leave cpai.com and be taken to another website. We are not responsible for the content or practices of other websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any website you visit before inputting any data.

Our Online Privacy Policy

  • Changes to this Privacy Policy:
This privacy policy may change. Whenever there are changes, the updated privacy policy will be posted on this page and will be effective at the time it is posted. Please check back regularly for updates to this privacy policy. At the time we post a new privacy policy, we will notify users who have opted-in to receive the AICPA Insurance Program's E-newsletter in the month the update takes effect.

  • Information Gathered by Us:
There are two types of information we collect through our website: Visitor Information and Personal Information. We gather information about visitors to our website to improve the information, products and services offered.

  • Visitor Information:
We routinely gather information about website activity. This information, "Visitor Information," is collected on an aggregate basis. Visitor Information may include information such as how many people visit our website, the pages people visit, the features they use, and how long they stay on our website. Visitor Information is generally gathered through the use of cookies.

  • Cookies:
"Cookies" are small files your browser places on your computer's hard drive as you use a website. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. A session ID cookie terminates once a user closes his or her browser. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user's hard drive for an extended period of time, and must be removed by the user. Our website uses cookies to make your online experience more convenient. For example, we may use a cookie to store your account information between sessions and to maintain information about quotes you have requested during a session. We do not collect any Personal Information from cookies. Also, no other information we collect from cookies can be linked back to your Personal Information.

Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can set your browser to refuse cookies. Even without a cookie, you can still use most of the features on our website. However, we cannot guarantee that all applications on the site will function properly. If you choose to not accept cookies, the option exists to submit an application via mail or fax.

  • Personal Information:
We collect Personal Information when you complete an application, a quote request, an online form, or a survey. We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the stated purpose(s), or as required by laws and regulations. We also collect e-mail addresses of those users who communicate with us via e-mail. We do not sell or share e-mail addresses to or with any third party.

  • Use of Personal Information:
We do not sell, trade, or give away your Personal Information - See Below.

We may use your Personal Information to contact you when necessary to process your quote, or application, or to respond to your information requests and concerns.

We may also use your Personal Information to help target valuable marketing and advertising offers or help us design and build better products and services.
You can opt out of receiving these additional communications from us by following the opt-out procedures below.

  • Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
We will only disclose your Personal Information to third parties when one of the following limited situations arise:

Insurance Companies and Licensed Agents - If you submit a quote or application, we will disclose your Personal Information to your chosen insurance company to process your application. If you submit an application for an insurance product offered through an insurance agent or agency with whom we have associated, then we may disclose your Personal Information to that agent or agency to process your requested quote or application. Please be assured that the agent or agency is only allowed to use your Personal Information to process your requested quote or application and is contractually obligated to maintain strict confidentiality. Be sure to read all notices and authorizations connected with an application before completion.

Service Providers - We may disclose your Personal Information to other companies that help us process or service your insurance application. Be assured that we will only disclose the portion of your Personal Information that is necessary to process or service your insurance application. These third parties are not allowed to use Personal Information except for the purpose of providing these services. Depending on the type of insurance application, service providers may include the Medical Information Bureau (MIB), a third party administrator, a bank, a premium financing company, or a credit bureau. For instance, we would only disclose your name, date of birth, and state of birth to the Medical Information Bureau to check on your health history for underwriting of a life insurance application. The companies we hire to process or service your insurance application or correspond with you are not allowed to use your Personal Information for their own purposes and are contractually obligated to maintain strict confidentiality.

Legal Obligations - We may disclose or report your Personal Information when we believe, in good faith, that the disclosure is required or permitted under law, for example, to cooperate with regulators or law enforcement authorities or to resolve consumer disputes.

Any third party disputes related to this privacy policy will be resolved according to Aon policies and contractual agreements with Insurance Companies, Licensed Agents and Service Providers.

The AICPA Insurance Programs complies with all applicable laws and regulations in the collection and handling of your Personal Information, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) Act of 1996, certain other laws, and Aon policies.

  • Accessing Your Personal Information
To gain access to the Personal Information you provided to us, you must contact the customer service area for the specific product for which you provided the information. If you need to find a customer service contact or make a change to your address, customer service contacts and a change of address form are available in the Contact Us section of the website. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our servers.

Internally, we restrict access to Personal Information to employees who need access to the information in order to process your application, quote or service request. These employees are limited in number, and are committed to compliance with our privacy and security policies. Authentication is used to prevent access to Personal Information stored electronically. Physical security is maintained over Personal Information stored in hardcopy form. Special security safeguards are applied to sensitive information.
