Declarations Page
This section personalizes the policy for an insured. It consists of the necessary information to identify the insured, the risk(s) to be covered, the coverage limits provided, the premium cost, the policy number, and the inception/expiration dates. The declaration page states certain acts concerning the parties to the contract.

Diagnosis-Related Groupings (DRGs)
System that reimburses health care providers fixed amounts for all care given in connection with standard diagnostic categories.

Disability Income Insurance
A form of health insurance that provides periodic payments to replace income when an insured person is unable to work as a result of illness, injury, or disease.

Dividend (Policy Dividend)
An amount which is refunded to the owner of a participating life insurance policy if the company has operated with sufficiently favorable experience.

Double Indemnity
A policy provision usually associated with death, which doubles payment of a designated benefit when certain kinds of accidents occur.
