Annuities available for purchase by certain non-profit and public education
institutions in the United States for their employees under which the money
used to purchase the annuity is not taxable as income until the annuity payments
begin, usually at retirement.
Third Party Administration
Administration of a group insurance plan by some person or firm other than the insurer or the policyholder.
Time Limit
The period of time during which a notice of claim or proof of loss must be filed.
Tort
A legal wrong committed upon the person or property of another independent of contract.
Total Disability - Disability Insurance
An illness or injury which prevents an injured person from continuously performing every duty
pertaining to his or her occupation or engaging in any other type of work. (This wording varies
among insurance companies.)
Travel Accident Policy
A limited contract covering only accidents while an insured person is traveling, usually on a commercial
carrier.
