Waiting Period
In a disability income policy, the period between the time a person becomes disabled and the time
insurance payments begin.
Waiver
An agreement attached to a policy which exempts from coverage certain disabilities or injuries which
are normally covered by the policy.
Waiver of Premium
A provision included in some policies which exempts the policyholder from paying
the premiums while an insured/policyholder is totally disabled, during the life
of the contract.
Whole Life Insurance
Insurance coverage which continues for the entire life of the insured.
Worker's Compensation
Laws requiring employers to assume responsibility for accidents and illnesses of employees that are
incurred in the workplace.
