Waiting Period
In a disability income policy, the period between the time a person becomes disabled and the time insurance payments begin.

Waiver
An agreement attached to a policy which exempts from coverage certain disabilities or injuries which are normally covered by the policy.

Waiver of Premium
A provision included in some policies which exempts the policyholder from paying the premiums while an insured/policyholder is totally disabled, during the life of the contract.
